Bathroom Design
Most bathroom design focuses on either how it looks or how it works. I focus on both — equally.
And I’m going to show you exactly what that looks like, and how our process works to save our clients time, money, and stress.
What our bathroom design service covers
We sit in the middle of two worlds.
On one side, you have an interior decorator who will change colours and finishes but won’t touch the floor plan. On the other, you have a builder or plumber who can help with the layout but not the palette or details.
Our background and approach to bathroom design includes the practical side of plumbing — understanding toilet set‑outs, drainage and fixtures — and bringing that together with the aesthetic, so the room feels like your home and works like a well‑run workspace.

Optimised Floor Plan Layout is where the success of the bathroom gets decided. The vanity, shower, bath and circulation are resolved early, so the room feels generous, works in daily use and does not need walls or plumbing moved once trades arrive.
Moisture & Ventilation Planning Moisture is where hidden, expensive problems show up years later. Extraction, airflow and waterproofing are coordinated up front to protect your finishes, prevent mould and reduce the risk of future repair work.
Layered Lighting Plan Lighting is what makes the bathroom feel calm instead of clinical. Task lighting at the vanity, ambient softness and dimmable scenes are planned together, so you are never stuck with harsh overhead light over a mirror.
Vanity Storage Strategy Storage is what keeps the vanity clear instead of cluttered. Drawers, shelving and internal organisers are designed around what you use, so there is space for everything without products permanently living on the bench.
Unlimited Photo-Real 3D Renders Renders are where confidence replaces second-guessing. Tile scale, colour combinations and the true feel of the room are shown in photo-real 3D before anything is ordered, so changes happen on screen, not mid-renovation.
Interior Design, Finish Spec & Builder-Ready Docs Finishes and documentation are what make the project feel resolved, not pieced together. Tiles, tapware, mirrors, hardware and paint are selected as one cohesive scheme, then documented clearly so your trades have everything they need before they step on site.

This client came to me wanting to keep her existing layout and just update the colours and bathroomware.
Instead, we redesigned the floor plan and gave her a warmer, more functional bathroom she loves, for only a fraction more money she had allocated, but a much better result.
Let’s talk about it.
This bathroom sat on the south side of the house and it felt it.
Dark, gloomy, cold and not a place you wanted to be. The layout made no sense, with the toilet in a far corner, a small bath, a shower tucked away, and no storage at all, just a pedestal basin that only had space for soap.
If we had only updated colours and materials, it might have looked warmer, but it would still have been awkward to use. We chose to slightly increase the budget and shift the timeline so we could fix the layout first, and make sure the money went into a bathroom that works for everyday life, not just one that looks different.
This is not the case for every client, but here the priority was getting the functionality right so they were not spending money on a space that still didn’t work.
We completely re‑worked the floor plan, using the long, narrow shape to our advantage.
The bathrooms width was the perfect size for a built‑in bath and shower in one wet area, which makes cleaning easier and suits life with two young kids who splash water everywhere.
We added a proper vanity with ample storage and bench space on either side of the basin, and recessed a mirror cabinet into the wall so it works as both a feature and everyday storage. The toilet is tucked out of sight when the door is open, yet still easy to reach, which matters when it is the primary toilet. The result is a bathroom that feels cosy, practical and worth the extra effort, rather than a space that only looks different on the surface.
That’s exactly why we follow our signature bathroom design framework, FLO™.
-
This is where we explore ideas on paper and sort the bones of the bathroom. Nothing else works properly if this step is skipped or rushed.
We look at how you shower, bathe, get ready and move through the room.
We test different layout options to see what really supports that.
We resolve zones, circulation and storage so the floor plan feels calm and easy to use, not like something you regret or resent later.
Outcome: 1–3 concept floor plans that show different ways your bathroom could work, before you spend a cent on tiles or fixtures.
-
This is where we double‑check that the layout and all the services are practical, buildable and aligned with your budget, and start the pricing process. This is where we catch issues before they become mid‑build problems or extra costs.
We check that plumbing, power, ventilation and fixtures all make sense for the layout.
We adjust details so plumbers, electricians and builders have what they need.
You can get quotes on a clear, defined scope instead of loose ideas and allowances.
Outcome: a refined, buildable floor plan and services plan ready for quoting, with far fewer unknowns once the work starts.
-
With a solid plan and buildable services, we bring the look and details together. This is where the bathroom starts to look like yours, but it only works long‑term because the layout and services are already doing their job.
We choose colours, materials and fittings that suit your home and how you live.
We refine details like vanity, storage and mirror placement so the room feels considered and personal, not generic.
We keep durability, maintenance and budget in view while final decisions are made.
Outcome: a final bathroom plan with fixtures, finishes and fittings resolved, ready for your builder and trades to price and build with confidence.
